The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who saw me and accompanied me. By Allah, you will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who saw those who saw me and accompanied those who accompanied me. By Allah, you will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who saw those who saw those who saw me and accompanied those who accompanied those who accompanied me."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رآني وصاحبني والله لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رأى من رآني، وصاحب من صاحبني، والله لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رأى من رأى من رآني، وصاحب من صاحب من صاحبني.

Ibn Abu Shayba narrated it in his Musannaf (33084) - and from his route Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah (1522), and Tabarani in Kabir (22/85) - from Zayd bin Hubab, who said, our teacher Abdullah bin Ala Abu Zubayr Dimashqi narrated to us, who said, our teacher Abdullah bin Amir narrated to us, from Wathila bin Asqa, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Zayd bin Hubab, for his hadith is hasan, and he has been corroborated. Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Sunnah (1523) from Hawti, who is Abdul-Wahhab bin Najda, who said, our teacher Walid bin Muslim narrated to us, who said, our teacher Abdullah bin Ala narrated to us, who said, our teacher Abdullah bin Amir narrated to me, from Wathila. Walid is a mudallis, but he stated clearly that he heard it directly.On this subject there is also a report from Sahl bin Saad, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, forgive the companions, and whoever saw them, and whoever saw them." He said, I said, "What does his saying 'and whoever saw them, and whoever saw them' mean?" He said, "Whoever saw those who saw them." Tabarani narrated it in Kabir (6/204), and Abu Naeem in Marifah (1/15) and in Hilya (3/254), both of them from the hadith of Muhammad bin Amr bin Awn, who said, our teacher my father narrated to us, our teacher Hushaym narrated to us, from Abu Yahya, from Abdul-Jabbar bin Abu Hazim, from his father, from Sahl bin Saad, who said, and he mentioned it.Abu Naeem said in Hilya, "No one narrated this hadith from him," meaning Abu Yahya, "except Hushaym." As for Abu Yahya Madani, it is said that he is Fulayh bin Sulayman, as stated in Marifah and Hilya, and there is disagreement about him. However, his teacher Abdul-Jabbar bin Abu Hazim was not deemed reliable by anyone. Ibn Hibban merely mentioned him in Thiqat (7/135), and Ibn Abu Hatim gave him an entry in Jarh wa Tadil, as did Bukhari in Tarikh al-Kabir, but neither of them mentioned anything about him. So his status is unknown, and Allah knows best.
