Abu Masud Uqba bin Amr al-Ansari came in to see Ali bin Abu Talib.Ali said to him, "Are you the one who says, 'A hundred years will not pass while there remains on earth a single eye that blinks'? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only said, 'A hundred years will not pass over the people while there remains on earth a single eye that blinks of those alive today.' By Allah, the ease and prosperity of this nation will come after a hundred years."
دخل ابو مسعود عقبة بن عمرو الأنصاري على علي بن ابي طالب، فقال له على: انت الذي تقول: لا يأتي مائة سنة وعلى الأرض عين تطرف، انما قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا يأتي على الناس مائة سنة وعلى الأرض عين تطرف ممن هو حي اليوم، والله ان رخاء هذه الامة بعد مائة عام.
Imam Ahmad (714) narrated it through the route of Nuaym bin Dajajah, who said, followed by the narration mentioned. Its chain is hasan on account of Nuaym bin Dajajah, from whom a group of narrators related, Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, Dhahabi deemed him trustworthy in Al-Kashif, Nasai included his narrations in Al-Mujtaba, and Hafiz said, "Acceptable."I say, this hadith of his contains nothing that would be deemed objectionable, rather it has sound foundations, so the hadith of such a narrator is deemed hasan.
