During the illness in which he passed away, the Prophet ﷺ called his daughter Fatimah and whispered something to her, and she wept. Then he called her again and whispered to her, and she laughed. She said, "I asked her about that, and she said, 'The Prophet ﷺ whispered to me and informed me that he would die from the illness he was suffering, so I wept. Then he whispered to me again and informed me that I would be the first of his family to follow him, so I laughed.'"
Bukhari narrated it in the Signs of Prophethood (3625, 3626), and Muslim in the Virtues (2450), both from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, from Urwa, from Ayesha, who mentioned it. Fatimah died six months after the death of her father.
