Narrated by Bukhari in the signs of prophethood (3870) and Muslim in the descriptions of the hypocrites (2803:48), from the hadith of Bakr bin Jafar, from Jafar bin Rabia, from Arak bin Malik, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Masud, from Ibn Abbas, who related the same account.Ibn Abbas was among those who did not witness the splitting of the moon, because that occurred about five years before the Hijrah, and Ibn Abbas had not yet been born.
