He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Whoever sees me has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take my form."
أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول: من رآني فقد رأى الحق فإن الشيطان لا يتكونني.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Interpretation of Dreams (6997), from Abdullah bin Yusuf, who said, Layth narrated to us, who said, Ibn Hadi narrated to me, from Abdullah bin Khabab, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.His saying, "he cannot take my form," means he cannot take on my being, that is, he cannot appear in my image.Fath al-Bari (12/386).
