He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "O Allah, whichever believing servant I have insulted, make that a means of drawing him closer to You on the Day of Resurrection."
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: اللهم فأيما عبد مؤمن سببته، فاجعل ذلك له قربة إليك يوم القيامة.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Supplications (6361), and Muslim in the Book of Righteousness and Maintaining Ties of Kinship (2601:92), through various routes from Ibn Wahb, who said, Yunus told me, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Saeed bin Musayab told me, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he mentioned it.
