I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "The people will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection upon a white, reddish-tinged earth like a loaf of pure flour."Suhayl, or someone else, said, "There will be no landmark on it belonging to anyone."
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: يحشر الناس يوم القيامة على أرض بيضاء عفراء كقرصة نقي. قال سهيل أو غيره: ليس فيها معلم لأحد.
Bukhari narrated it in "The Heart-Softening Matters" (6521), and Muslim in "The Attributes of the Hypocrites" (2790), both from the hadith of Muhammad bin Jafar bin Abu Kathir, who said, "Abu Hazim bin Dinar narrated to me, from Sahl bin Saad," and he related it.As for his statement, "Suhayl or someone else said," this is found in Bukhari alone, whereas Muslim related the hadith in its entirety as a single continuous narration.Khattabi said, "Ufrah means a whiteness that is not pure white, while naqi means fine white bread, purified of husk and bran. As for his statement, 'There is no landmark for anyone in it,' he means that that land is level, having no rise that would block the sight, and no structure that conceals what lies behind it. Al-malam means one of the earth's landmarks, that is, its markers by which people find their way on the roads." Alam Hadith (3/2268).
