She said to Urwa, "Does it not astonish you what Abu Hurairah did? He came and sat beside my chamber, narrating from the Prophet ﷺ and making sure I could hear him. I was performing my voluntary prayer, and he got up before I could finish. Had I caught him, I would have refuted him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not rattle off hadith the way you people do."Wazad added in another narration, "Rather, he used to speak with clear, distinct speech that anyone sitting with him could memorize."
أنها قالت لعروة: ألا يعجبك أبو هريرة جاء فجلس إلى جنب حجرتي، يحدث عن النبي ﷺ يسمعني ذلك، وكنت أسبح فقام قبل أن أقضي سبحتي، ولو أدركته لرددت عليه، إن رسول الله ﷺ لم يكن يسرد الحديث كسردكم. وزاد في رواية: ولكنه كان يتكلم بكلام بين فصل يحفظه من جلس إليه.
Muslim narrated it in the Merits of the Companions (160:2493) from Harmala bin Yahya Tamimi, who said, Ibn Wahb informed us, Yunus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, that Urwa bin Zubayr told him that Ayesha said, and he mentioned it.Bukhari mentioned it in the Merits (3568) as a suspended narration from Layth, who said, Yunus told me, from Ibn Shihab, with the same wording.The additional portion was reported by Tirmidhi in his Sunan (3639) and in the Shamail (224), and by Ahmad (26209, 52077), and by Ibn Saad (1/375), all of them by way of Usama bin Zayd Laythi, who said, Ibn Shihab told us, from Urwa, from Ayesha, who said, and she mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Usama bin Zayd Laythi, for his hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi said, This is a hasan sahih hadith.
