He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never kept me away from him from the time I embraced Islam, and he never saw me without laughing."In another wording, "He never saw me without smiling at my face."
قال ما حجبني رسول الله ﷺ منذ أسلمت، ولا رآني إلا ضحك. وفي لفظ: ولا رآني إلا تبسم في وجهي.
Bukhari related it in Manaqib Ansar (3822) and Muslim in Fadail al-Sahabah (134:2475), both through the route of Khalid bin Abdullah, from Bayan, who said, I heard Qays bin Abu Hazim say, Jareer bin Abdullah said, and then he mentioned it.
