While he was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, accompanied by the people on their return from Hunayn, the Bedouins crowded around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pressing him with requests until they forced him against an acacia tree, and his cloak was snatched away by its branches.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped and said, "Give me back my cloak. If I had livestock equal in number to these thorny trees, I would distribute them all among you. Then you would not find me to be miserly, nor a liar, nor a coward."
أنه بينا هو مع رسول الله ﷺ ومعه الناس مقبلا من حنين علقت رسول الله ﷺ الأعراب يسألونه حتى اضطروه إلى سمرة فخطفت رداءه، فوقف رسول الله ﷺ فقال: أعطوني ردائي، فلو كان عدد هذه العضاه نعما لقسمته بينكم، ثم لا تجدوني بخيلا ولا كذوبا ولا جبانا.
Bukhari related it in the Book of the Obligation of Khumus (3148), from Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah Uwaysi, who said, Ibrahim bin Saad narrated to us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Umar bin Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim informed me that Muhammad bin... he said, Jubayr bin Mutim informed me, and he related it.
