Narrated by Abu Dawud (4187), Tirmidhi (1755), Ibn Majah (3635), and Ahmad (24871), all of them through Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, who related it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad, for his narrations are hasan. Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan sahih hadith.Iraqi said, three descriptions of his ﷺ hair are mentioned, jumma, wafra, and limma. The wafra is hair that reaches the earlobe, the limma is hair that falls below the earlobe, and the jumma is hair that falls below that, down to the shoulders.As for what is reported from Umm Hani that she said, the Prophet ﷺ came to Makkah with his hair in four braids, this is a broken chain. It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4191), Tirmidhi (1781) and in Shamail (27), Ibn Majah (3631), and Ahmad (26890), all of them through Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Ibn Abu Najeeh, from Mujahid, from Umm Hani bint Abu Talib, who said, and she related it. Its chain is daif because of the break between Mujahid and Umm Hani. Bukhari said, I do not know of Mujahid having heard anything from Umm Hani.The word "ghadair" means braids and plaits.
