The Prophet ﷺ was of medium height with broad shoulders, and his hair reached the lobes of his ears. I once saw him in a red garment, and I have never seen anything more beautiful than him.In another wording, "I have never seen anyone with long hair in a red garment more handsome than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His hair fell upon his shoulders, his shoulders were broad, and he was neither tall nor short."
كان النبي ﷺ مربوعا بعيد ما بين المنكبين، له شعر يبلغ شحمة أذنه، رأيته في حلة حمراء لم أر شيئا قط أحسن منه. وفي لفظ: ما رأيت من ذي لمة أحسن في حلة حمراء من رسول الله ﷺ، شعره يضرب منكبيه، بعيد ما بين المنكبين، ليس بالطويل ولا بالقصير.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Virtues (3551) and Muslim in the Book of Virtues (91:2337), both through the route of Shuba, who said, I heard Abu Ishaq say, I heard Bara say, and then he mentioned it. As for the other narration, Muslim narrated it in the Book of Virtues (92:2337) from Abu Ishaq with the same wording.A similar meaning has been narrated from Jabir bin Samura, who said, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a moonlit night, wearing a red cloak, and I found myself looking at him and at the moon, and he seemed to me more beautiful than the moon. However, this is daif. It was narrated by Tirmidhi in the Book of Manners (2811), Darimi (58), and Nasai in Sunan al-Kubra (9562), and Hakim declared it sahih (4/186), all of them through the route of Ashath bin Sawwar, from Abu Ishaq, from Jabir bin Samura, who said, and then he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is daif because of Ashath bin Sawwar Kindi.
