She said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There is no Muslim who is struck by a calamity and says what Allah has commanded, "Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace it for me with something better," except that Allah will replace it for him with something better.'"She said, "When Abu Salama died, I said to myself, 'Which Muslim is better than Abu Salama? The first household to emigrate to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Then I said the words, and Allah replaced him for me with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Hatib bin Abu Balta to me to propose marriage on his behalf."I said, "I have a daughter, and I am a jealous woman."He replied, "As for her daughter, we will pray to Allah to make her independent of her, and I will pray to Allah to remove the jealousy."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Funerals (918:3) through several routes from Ismail bin Jafar, who said, "Saad bin Saeed told me," from Umar bin Kathir bin Aflah, from Ibn Safina, from Umm Salama, and he mentioned it.
