Talha bin Musarrif reported,
I asked Abdullah bin Abu Awfa, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ leave a will?"He replied, "No."I said, "Then why was making a will prescribed for the Muslims, or why were they commanded to make a will?"He answered, "He left as his bequest the Book of Allah 
."

سألت عبد الله بن أبي أوفى هل أوصى رسول الله ﷺ؟ فقال: لا. قلت: فلم كتب على المسلمين الوصية، أو فلم أمروا بالوصية؟ قال: أوصى بكتاب الله عز وجل.
