When the Prophet ﷺ descended at al-Hijr, he said to his companions, "Whoever has kneaded dough using water from this," meaning their well, "let him throw it away." So the one with dough threw out his dough, and the one with hays threw out his hays.
أن النبي ﷺ قال لأصحابه حين نزل الحجر: من اعتجن من هذه-يعني- بئرهم- شيئا، فليلقه. فألقى ذو العجين عجينة، وصاحب الحيس حيسه.

Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir (7/136), and Hakim (2/566), both through chains going back to Abdul-Aziz bin Rabi bin Sabra, from his father, from his grandfather, who said, then he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Aziz bin Rabi bin Sabra, for his hadith is hasan. Hijr is the dwelling place of the people of Thamud, and the Messenger and his companions passed by it during the expedition to Tabuk.
