Abu Ishaq reported,

A man said to Bara, "Abu Umarah, did you flee on the day of Hunayn?"He replied, "No, by Allah! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not turn away. Rather, some of the younger and lightly equipped of his companions went out without armor, or with little weaponry, and they encountered a people skilled in archery whose arrows hardly ever missed, the gathered forces of Hawazin and Banu Nasr. They showered them with arrows that scarcely went astray. So they fell back toward the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was on his white mule, with Abu Sufyan bin Harith bin Abd al-Muttalib leading it. He dismounted and prayed for victory, saying, 'I am the Prophet, no lie. I am the son of Abd al-Muttalib.' Then he arranged them in ranks."
