The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one from my nation endures the hardship and severity of Madinah without my being an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا يصبر على لأواء المدينة وشدتها أحد من أمتي إلا كنت له شفيعا يوم القيامة، أو شهيدا.
Narrated by Muslim in the book of Hajj (1378) through several chains from Ismail bin Jafar, from Ala bin Abdul-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned the hadith. On this subject there is also a report from Asma bint Umays, who said that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No one endures the hardship and difficulty of Madinah patiently without my being an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection." It was narrated by Imam Ahmad (27085), Nasai in Kubra (4282), and Tabarani in Kabir 24/no. (373), all of them through Yaqub (Ibn Ibrahim bin Saad Zuhri), who said, my father narrated to me, from Walid bin Kathir (Makhzumi), who said, Abdullah bin Muslim Tawil, the companion of the manuscripts, narrated to me, that Kilab bin Tulayd, a brother of Banu Saad bin Layth, said that while he was sitting with Saeed bin Musayab, a messenger from Nafi bin Jubayr bin Mutim bin Adi came to him saying, your maternal cousin sends you greetings and says, tell me how does the hadith go that you narrated to me from Asma bint Umays? Saeed bin Musayab said, tell him that Asma bint Umays informed me, and he then mentioned the hadith. In this chain is Kilab bin Tulayd, whose reliability was not affirmed by anyone except Ibn Hibban, who mentioned him in Thiqat (5/338). For this reason Hafiz said of him, "acceptable," meaning if corroborated, otherwise his hadith is weak. The narrator from him, Abdullah bin Muslim Tawil, the companion of the maqsurah or the manuscripts, had no one narrate from him except Walid bin Muslim, and no one affirmed his reliability except that Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat (7/52), calling him Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Muslim Tawil. For this reason Hafiz said of him, "acceptable," meaning if corroborated, otherwise his hadith is weak. Dhahabi said of him, "he is barely known."
