The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered Khalid bin Walid that day to enter from the upper part of Makkah by way of Kada, while the Prophet ﷺ himself entered from Kuda. Two men from Khalid bin Walid's cavalry were killed that day, Hubaysh bin Ashqar and Kurz bin Jabir al-Fihri.
أمر رسول الله ﷺ يومئذ خالد بن الوليد أن يدخل من أعلى مكة من كداء، ودخل النبي ﷺ من كدا، فقتل من خيل خالد بن الوليد يومئذ رجلان: حبيش بن الأشقر، وكرز بن جابر الفهري.
Bukhari narrated it in Al-Maghazi (4280) from Ubayd bin Ismail, who said, "Abu Usama narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father," and he mentioned it in a lengthy hadith. Ibn Ishaq mentioned that these two men took a route and became separated from Khalid's army, so the polytheists killed them that day.
