Abu Bakr came in to her while she was sifting wheat for him and asked, "What is this? Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered you to prepare provisions?"She replied, "Yes," and continued preparing them.He asked, "And to where?"She answered, "He did not name any destination for us, only that he ordered us to prepare provisions."
أن أبا بكر دخل عليها وهي تغربل حنطة له فقال: ما هذا؟ أمركم رسول الله ﷺ بالجهاز؟ فقالت: نعم فتجهزه، قال: وإلى أين؟ قالت: ما سمى لنا شيئا غير أنه قد أمرنا بالجهاز.

Bayhaqi narrated it in Dalail (12/5) from the hadith of Yunus bin Bukayr, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, Muhammad bin Jafar told us, from Urwa bin Zubayr, from Ayesha, and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq. It is also found in Sirat bin Hisham (2/397) without its chain, and it reads, Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed the people that he was setting out toward Makkah, and he ordered them to be diligent and prepared, and he said, "O Allah, block the eyes and the news from Quraysh until we take them by surprise in their own land."
