"O you who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you" [Nisa 4:59] was revealed concerning Abdullah bin Huzafa al-Sahmi, whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out on a military expedition.
{يأيها الذين ءامنوا أطيعوا الله وأطيعوا الرسول وأولى الأمر منكم} [النساء: ٥٩] نزلت في عبد الله بن حذافة السهمي، بعثه رسول الله ﷺ في سرية.
Bukhari narrated it in tafsir (4584) and Muslim in Imarah (31:1834), both from the hadith of Hajjaj bin Muhammad, from Ibn Jurayj, from Yaala bin Muslim, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who mentioned it.
