We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night when he stopped to rest and we rested with him. He said, "A messenger came to me from your Lord after you had gone to sleep and gave me a choice between half of my nation entering Paradise and intercession. I chose intercession."We said, "Messenger of Allah, make us among those for whom you will intercede."He replied, "You are among them."We said, "Messenger of Allah, shall we not give the good news to the people?"Some men hurried toward him, and when the crowd around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grew large, he said, "It is for everyone who dies without associating anything with Allah."
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ ذات ليلة فعرس وعرسنا، فقال: أتى آت بعدكم من ربكم فخير ني بين أن يدخل نصف الشفاعة، فاخترت الشفاعة، فقلنا: يا رسول الله، أمتي الجنة، وبين اجعلنا ممن تشفع له. قال: أنتم منهم. قلنا: أفلا نبشر الناس بها يا رسول الله؟ وابتدرناه الرجال فلما كثروا على رسول الله ﷺ قال: هي لكل من مات لا يشرك بالله شيئا.
Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Sunnah (821), from Hisham bin Ammar, who said, Hakam bin Hisham narrated to us, Abdul-Malik bin Umayr narrated to us, from Abu Burda and Abu Bakr, the two sons of Abu Musa, from Abu Musa, who said, and then he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan on account of Hakam bin Hisham, for he is truthful.
