The people were with the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyah, scattered beneath the shade of the trees, when suddenly the people gathered closely around the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "Abdullah, go see what is happening with the people who have crowded around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He found them giving the pledge of allegiance, so he gave his pledge, then returned to Umar, who then went out and gave his pledge as well.
Bukhari narrated it in al-Maghazi (4187) from Hisham bin Ammar, who said, "Walid bin Muslim narrated to us, Umar bin Muhammad al-Umari narrated to us, Nafi informed me, from Ibn Umar," and he related it.This hadith appears in the form of a suspended report, "Hisham bin Ammar said." Hafiz said that in some manuscripts it reads, "Hisham bin Ammar said to me," making it a connected chain.
