The Prophet ﷺ said, "Some will be brought out of the Hellfire through intercession, looking like thaarir."I asked, "What are thaarir?"He replied, "Daghabis," meaning small cucumbers. By then his teeth had fallen out.So I said to Amr bin Dinar, "Abu Muhammad, did you hear Jabir bin Abdullah say, 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say that some will be brought out of the Hellfire through intercession'?"He answered, "Yes."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: يخرج من النار بالشفاعة كأنهم الثعارير قلت: ما الثعارير؟ قال: الضغابيس وكان قد سقط فمه، فقلت لعمرو بن دينار: أبا محمد سمعت جابر بن عبد الله يقول: سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: يخرج بالشفاعة من النار؟ قال: نعم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Softening Hearts (6558), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (318/191), both from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, from Amr, from Jabir, and he mentioned it similarly. The wording given here is Bukhari's. As for Muslim, he did not mention the first part of the hadith.
