On the day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had his front tooth broken and his head wounded. He began wiping the blood from himself and saying, "How can a people prosper who have wounded their Prophet and broken his tooth while he is calling them to Allah?"Then Allah revealed, "Not for you is the decision in any matter" [Al Imran 3:128].
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Campaigns (179:104) from Abdullah bin Maslama bin Qanab, who said, Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, and he related it as mentioned. Bukhari also mentioned it in the Book of Campaigns (4068), in the chapter "You have no say in the matter" [Al Imran 3:128], with a suspended chain from Humayd and Thabit, from Anas, in a similar wording.
