On the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at the polytheists, who numbered a thousand, while his companions were three hundred and nineteen men.
لما كان يوم بدر نظر رسول الله ﷺ إلى المشركين وهم ألف، وأصحابه ثلاثمائة وتسعة عشر رجلا.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (58:1763), through several routes from Ikrima bin Ammar, who said, Abu Zumayl Simak Hanafi told me, who said, Abdullah bin Abbas told me, who said, Umar bin Khattab told me, and he mentioned it in a long hadith.
