The companions of Muhammad ﷺ who witnessed Badr told me that they numbered the same as the companions of Talut who crossed the river with him, three hundred and a few more than ten.Bara said, "No, by Allah, none crossed the river with him except a believer."
حدثني أصحاب محمد ﷺ ممن شهد بدرا أنهم كانوا عدة أصحاب طالوت الذين جاوزوا معه النهر: بضعة عشر وثلاثمائة، قال البراء: لا والله ما جاوز معه النهر إلا مؤمن.
