Anas bin Malik reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out for Badr, he consulted the people. Abu Bakr gave his opinion, then he consulted them again and Umar gave his opinion, and then he fell silent.A man from the Ansar said, "He means us."So they said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, we will not be like the Children of Israil who said to Musa, 'So go, you and your Lord, and fight. We are sitting right here' [Maidah 5:24]. Rather, by Allah, if you were to drive your mounts hard until you reached Birk al-Ghimad, we would be with you."
