The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have five names. I am Muhammad and Ahmad. I am al-Mahi, the one through whom Allah erases disbelief. I am al-Hashir, the one at whose feet people will be gathered. And I am al-Aqib."
قال رسول الله ﷺ لي خمسة أسماء: أنا محمد وأحمد، وأنا الماحي الذي يمحو الله بي الكفر، وأنا الحاشر الذي يحشر الناس على قدمي، وأنا العاقب.
Malik narrated it in the Names of the Prophet ﷺ (1) from Ibn Shihab, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim, who said, and then he mentioned it. Bukhari narrated it in the Merits (3532) through the route of Malik, with the same wording. Muslim narrated it in the Merits (2354:124) from Zuhayr bin Harb, Ishaq bin Ibrahim, and Ibn Abu Umar, all of them from Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Zuhri, with the same wording. In one version reported by Muslim, an addition was made, saying, and Allah has named him Rauf and Raheem.In the hadith of Aqeel, he said, I asked Zuhri, "What is al-Aqib?" He said, "The one after whom there is no prophet."
