Ayesha reported,

A Jewish man had settled in Mecca and used to trade there. On the night the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was born, he asked at a gathering of Quraysh, "People of Quraysh, has a child been born among you tonight?"They replied, "By Allah, we know of none."He said, "Allah is the Greatest! Well then, since I am giving you this for free, look and remember what I tell you. Tonight there has been born among you the prophet of this final nation. Between his shoulders is a mark with several hairs upon it like the mane of a horse. He will not nurse for two nights, because a powerful jinn placed his finger in the child's mouth and kept him from nursing."The people dispersed from the gathering, marveling at his words and his account. When they reached their homes, each man told his family, and they said, "A boy has been born to Abdullah bin Abdul-Muttalib, and they have named him Muhammad."The men met again and asked one another, "Did you hear what that Jewish man said? And has the news of this boy's birth reached you?"They set off together until they came to the Jewish man and told him the news.He said, "Come with me so I may see him."They took him along until they brought him in to Aminah, and he said, "Bring out your son to us."She brought him out, and they uncovered his back for the man, and he saw that mark. The Jewish man fell unconscious. When he came to, they asked, "Woe to you, what is the matter with you?"He said, "By Allah, prophethood has departed from the children of Israil. Are you pleased with this, people of Quraysh? By Allah, he will strike you with such a blow that news of it will travel from East to West."Among the noblemen to whom the Jewish man spoke these words were Hisham and Walid, the sons of Mughira, Musafir bin Abu Amr, Ubayda bin Harith, and Uqba bin Rabia, a youth just past the age of puberty, along with a group from Banu Abd Manaf and others of Quraysh.
