The Prophet ﷺ said, "While I was near the House, in a state between sleep and wakefulness..." This was part of the story of the Night Journey, in which he said:"We came to the sixth heaven. It was asked, 'Who is this?'The reply came, 'Jibreel.'It was asked, 'Who is with you?'He said, 'Muhammad.'It was asked, 'Has he been sent for?'The reply came, 'Welcome to him, and what an excellent arrival.'Then I came upon Musa and greeted him. He said, 'Welcome, brother and prophet.'When I passed beyond him, he wept. It was asked, 'What has made you weep?'He said, 'My Lord, this young man who was sent after me, more of his nation will enter Paradise than of mine...'"
قال النبي ﷺ: بينا أنا عند البيت بين النائم واليقظان… في قصة الإسراء وفيه: فأتينا على السماء السادسة قيل: من هذا؟ قيل: جبريل قيل: من معك؟ قيل: محمد قيل: وقد أرسل إليه؟ مرحبا به، ولنعم المجيء جاء، فأتيت على موسى فسلمت عليه فقال: مرحبا بك من أخ ونبي، فلما جاوزت بكى فقيل: ما أبكاك قال: يا رب هذا الغلام الذي بعث بعدي يدخل الجنة من أمته أفضل مما يدخل من أمتي…
Bukhari reported it in the Beginning of Creation (3207), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (164:264), both narrated from Saeed bin Abu Aruba and Hisham Dastawai, from Qatada, from Anas, from Malik bin Sasaa, who related it.
