It is reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, "Musa asked his Lord about six qualities which he thought were exclusive to him, and a seventh which Musa did not love.He said, 'My Lord, which of Your servants is most God-fearing?'He answered, 'The one who remembers and does not forget.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is most rightly guided?'He answered, 'The one who follows guidance.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is most just in judgment?'He answered, 'The one who judges for people as he judges for himself.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is most knowledgeable?'He answered, 'A scholar who is never satisfied with knowledge, who joins the knowledge of others to his own.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is most mighty?'He answered, 'The one who forgives when he has the power to punish.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is wealthiest?'He answered, 'The one who is content with what he is given.'Musa asked, 'Which of Your servants is poorest?'He answered, 'The one always wanting more.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wealth is not in abundance of possessions. True wealth is the richness of the soul. When Allah wills good for a servant, He places contentment in his soul and piety in his heart, and when Allah wills ill for a servant, He places poverty before his eyes."
Ibn Hibban (6217) narrated it from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Salm in Bayt al-Maqdis, Harmala bin Yahya told us, Ibn Wahb told us, Amr bin Harith informed me, that Abu Samh told him, from Ibn Hujayra, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Darraj Abu Samh, who is disputed, except that his hadith is graded hasan when it is not from Abu Haytham, and his narration here is from Abdul-Rahman bin Hujayra, who is trustworthy. As for what was narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that he said, "Musa said, 'O Lord, teach me something by which I may remember You and call upon You.' He said, 'Say, O Musa, there is no god but Allah.' He said, 'O Lord, all Your servants say this.' He said, 'Say, there is no god but Allah.' He said, 'I want something that is특별 to me alone.' He said, 'O Musa, if the seven heavens and the seven earths were placed on one side of a scale, and there is no god but Allah were placed on the other side, there is no god but Allah would outweigh them,'" this is daif.It was narrated by Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (834), Ibn Hibban (6218), Abu Yaala (1393), and Tabarani in Al-Duaa (1480, 1480), all of them through various routes from Darraj Abu Samh, from Abu Haytham, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.Darraj Abu Samh is daif in his narration from Abu Haytham, as Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and others have said. As for the statement of Hafiz in Fath al-Bari (11/208) that Nasai narrated it with a sahih chain, this contradicts what is in Al-Taqrib, which states, "Truthful, but his hadith from Abu Haytham is daif."It was also narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said, "Musa said, 'O Lord, Your believing servant, You place him under hardship in this world.' He said, 'So a gate of Paradise is opened for him, and he looks at it. He is told, "O Musa, this is what I have prepared for him."' Musa said, 'O Lord, by Your might and majesty, if he had been cut off in both hands and both feet, dragging himself on his face from the day You created him until the Day of Judgment, and this were his final destination, he would never have seen misery at all.' Then Musa said, 'O Lord, Your disbelieving servant, You grant him ease in this world.' He said, 'So a gate of the Fire is opened for him, and it is said, "O Musa, this is what I have prepared for him."' Musa said, 'O Lord, by Your might and majesty, if he had possessed this world from the day You created him until the Day of Judgment, and this were his final destination, it would be as though he had never seen any good at all.'"This was narrated by Ahmad (11767) and Abu Naeem in Sifat al-Jannah (40, 41), both through the narration of Yahya bin Ishaq Silhini, Ibn Lahia told us, from Darraj, from Abu Haytham, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it. In its chain are Ibn Lahia and Darraj's narration from Abu Haytham, and both of them are daif.
