Abu Dawud (4670), Ahmad (1757), and Abu Yaala (6793) all narrated it through various routes from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Ismail bin Abu Hakeem, from Qasim, from Abdullah bin Jafar, who related it. Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, who has been explicitly stated to have narrated by hearing (haddathani) in Khatib's Tarikh (138/10).I say, the Prophet's ﷺ statement should be understood as an expression of his humility, otherwise Allah Most High has said, "Those messengers, We have favored some of them over others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in rank" [Baqarah 2:253], and the Prophet ﷺ said, "I am the master of the children of Adam, and I say this without boasting."
