Anas bin Malik reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah shaped Adam in Paradise, He left him as long as He willed to leave him. Iblis began circling around him, examining what he was. When he saw that he was hollow, he realized that he was a creature who would not be able to control himself."

Sahihعن أنس بن مالك
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لما صور الله آدم في الجنة تركه ما شاء الله أن يتركه، فجعل إبليس يطيف به ينظر ما هو؟ فلما رآه أجوف عرف أنه خلق خلقا لا يتمالك.
Muslim narrated it in al-Birr wal-Silah (2611) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Yunus bin Muhammad narrated to us, from Hammad bin Salama, from Thabit, from Anas, and he related it.The meaning of "he does not restrain himself" is that he cannot control himself because he needs food and drink and the satisfaction of his desires.
