The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There was a man who used to lend money to people, and he would say to his servant, 'When you come to someone in difficulty, overlook his debt, perhaps Allah will overlook our sins.' So when he met Allah, He overlooked his sins."
Bukhari narrated it in the Hadiths of the Prophets (3480), and Muslim in Musaqah (1562-31), both through the route of Ibrahim bin Saad, from Zuhri, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utba, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and then he mentioned it.
