I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts. He kept ninety-nine parts with Himself and sent down a single part to the earth. From that one part, all creation shows mercy to one another, so much so that a mare lifts her hoof away from her foal out of fear of harming it."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: جعل الله الرحمة مائة جزء. فأمسك عنده تسعة وتسعين جزءا، وأنزل في الأرض جزءا واحدا، فمن ذلك الجزء يتراحم الخلق حتى ترفع الفرس حافرها عن ولدها خشية أن تصيبه.
