He used to relate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the Day of Resurrection, a group of my companions will come to me, but they will be turned away from the Pool. I will say, 'My Lord, my companions!' He will reply, 'You have no knowledge of what they introduced after you. They turned back on their heels in apostasy.'"
أنه كان يحدث أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: يرد علي يوم القيامة رهط من أصحابي، فيجلون عن الحوض، فأقول: يا رب أصحابي؟ فيقول: إنك لا علم لك بما أحدثوا بعدك، إنهم ارتدوا على أدبارهم القهقرى.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Raqaiq (6585), saying, Ahmad bin Shabib bin Saeed Habati said, my father told us, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, that he used to narrate, and he mentioned the hadith.He also narrated it (6586) from Ahmad bin Salih, Ibn Wahb told us, saying, Yunus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Ibn Musayab, that he used to narrate, from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Some men from among my companions will come to the pool, and they will be driven away from it. I will say, 'O Lord, my companions?' He will say, 'You have no knowledge of what they introduced after you. They turned back on their heels in retreat.'"Shuayb said, from Zuhri, Abu Hurairah used to narrate from the Prophet ﷺ, "fa yujallawn." Aqeel said, "fa yuhallawn."Zubaydi said, from Zuhri, from Muhammad bin Ali, from Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ.His statement, "yujallawn," with the first letter having a damma, the jim silent, and the lam having a fatha, means they are turned away.His statement, "fa yuhallawn," with the ha having a fatha and a doubled lam followed by a hamza with a damma, means they are driven off.
