The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The martyr feels nothing from the agony of being killed except what one of you feels from the sting of a pinch."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما يجد الشهيد من مس القتل إلا كما يجد أحدكم من مس القرصة.
Tirmidhi (1668), Nasai (3161), Ibn Majah (2802), and Ahmad (7953) all narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (4655) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Muhammad bin Ajlan, from Qaqa bin Hakeem, from Abu Salih (that is, Sammaan), from Abu Hurairah, who related it.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ajlan, for his hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith."As for his word "al-qarsah," it is pronounced with a fatha on the qaf and a sakin on the ra, from al-qars. It is stated in Qamus that al-qars is your grasping a person's flesh between two fingers until it hurts him, and it is also used for the bite of fleas.
