The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given five things that no one before me was given. Every prophet was sent only to his own people, but I have been sent to every red and black person. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, though they were not lawful for anyone before me. The earth has been made for me a place of purity and a place of prayer, so whenever the time of prayer comes upon a man, he may pray wherever he is. I have been aided with awe striking fear into my enemies from a month's distance away. And I have been granted the right of intercession."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أعطيت خمسا لم يعطهن أحد قبلي: كان كل نبي يبعث إلى قومه خاصة وبعثت إلى كل أحمر وأسود، وأحلت لي الغنائم ولم تحل لأحد قبلي، وجعلت لي الأرض طيبة طهورا ومسجدا، فأيما رجل أدركته الصلاة صلى حيث كان، ونصرت بالرعب بين يدي مسيرة شهر، وأعطيت الشفاعة.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on the obligation of khumus (3122), and Muslim in the chapter on mosques (521), both of them through the route of Hushaym, who said, Sayyar informed us, Yazid Faqir narrated to us, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it. The wording given is Muslim's, while Bukhari confined himself to the mention of the spoils. The hadith contains an allusion to what is found in the Torah, in the Book of Joshua (6:17-19).
