Zayd bin Thabit reported,

Zayd bin Thabit reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dictated to me the verse, 'Not equal are those believers who sit at home, other than those who have a disabling hurt, and those who strive hard in the cause of Allah' [Nisa 4:95].Ibn Umm Maktum came to him while he was dictating it to me and said, 'Messenger of Allah, if I were able to fight, I would fight,' for he was a blind man.Then Allah sent revelation upon His Messenger while his thigh was on my thigh, and it grew so heavy upon me that I feared it would crush my thigh. Then it was lifted from him, and Allah revealed, 'other than those who have a disabling hurt.'"

عن زيد بن ثابت قال

إن رسول الله ﷺ أملى علي: {لا يستوى القعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر والمجهدون في سبيل الله} [سورة النساء: ٩٥] قال: فجاءه ابن أم مكتوم وهو يملها علي فقال: يا رسول الله! لو أستطيع الجهاد لجاهدت-وكان رجلا أعمى-، فأنزل الله تبارك وتعالى على رسوله وفخذه على فخذي، فثقلت علي حتى خفت أن ترض فخذي، ثم سري عنه فأنزل الله: {غير أولي الضرر}.
