The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses. Their owners are supported through them, and the one who spends on them is like one extending his hand in charity."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الخيل معقود في نواصيها الخير، وأهلها معاونون عليها، والمنفق عليها كالباسط يده بالصدقة.
Tabarani related it in al-Kabir (22/339), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (4674), as did Hakim (2/91), through various routes from Abdullah bin Wahb, who said, Muawiya bin Salih (that is, the son of Hudayr al-Hadrami) informed me, Nuaym bin Ziyad told me that he heard Abu Kabsha, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ, say, and then he mentioned it.Hakim said, "This is a hadith sahih in its isnad, though the two of them [Bukhari and Muslim] did not include it with this addition."Haythami said, "Its narrators are reliable."
