Ibn Zubayr said to Ibn Jafar, "Do you remember when we met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you and I and Ibn Abbas?"He replied, "Yes. He carried us with him and left you behind."
قال ابن الزبير لابن جعفر: أتذكر إذ تلقينا رسول الله ﷺ و أنا وأنت وابن عباس؟ قال: نعم، فحملنا وتركك.
Bukhari narrated it in jihad and expeditions (3082), and Muslim in the virtues of the companions (2427: 65), both from the hadith of Habib bin Shaheed, from Abdullah bin Abu Mulayka, and he mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's. In Muslim's version it appears as, "Abdullah bin Jafar said to Ibn Zubayr," reversed in this way. And Allah knows best.
