The Prophet ﷺ forbade the killing of women and children.
أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن قتل النساء والصبيان.
Bazzar (Kashf Astar 1679) narrated it from Bishr bin Adam, who said, Abu Dawud told us, who said, Hammam told us, from Qatada, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it. Bazzar said, "We do not know of anyone who narrated it with this isnad except Hammam, nor from him except Abu Dawud." This isnad is hasan on account of Bishr bin Adam, who is Abu Abdul-Rahman Basri, for his hadith is hasan when he does not contradict others and does not bring something that is rejected of him.Ibn Abu Shayba (33785) and Ahmad (2316) narrated it through the route of Hajjaj, from Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the killing of women, and the wording is that of Ibn Abu Shayba. Hajjaj is a mudallis and he narrated using "an" without specifying direct transmission, and Hakam bin Utayba did not hear from Miqsam except five hadiths, and this is not one of them.
