Abu Bakr bin Abu Musa Ashari reported,

His father reported that the Prophet ﷺ was on a military expedition when a man from the polytheists challenged a Muslim to single combat and killed him. Then another Muslim came forward against him and the polytheist killed him as well. Then the polytheist drew near and stood before the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "For what cause are you fighting?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Our religion requires us to fight people until they bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that Allah is exalted by His right."The man said, "By Allah, this is truly excellent. I believe in this." Then he crossed over to the Muslims and charged at the polytheists, fighting until he was killed. His body was carried and laid beside the two Muslims he had killed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "These are among the most deeply loving companions in Paradise."
