I went on such and such a campaign with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ. The people crowded the camping spots and blocked the road, so the Prophet of Allah ﷺ sent a crier to announce among the people, "Whoever crowds a camping spot or blocks a road has no jihad to his credit."
Ahmad narrated it (2629), Ahmad (15648), and Bayhaqi (9/152) through the route of Ismail bin Ayyash, from Usayd bin Abdul-Rahman Khathami, from Farwah bin Mujahid Lakhmi, from Sahl bin Muaz bin Anas Juhani, from his father, and he mentioned it.This isnad is hasan because of Sahl bin Muaz, for he is hasan al-hadith, and Ismail bin Ayyash is truthful in what he narrates from the people of Syria, and this is one of those narrations, for Usayd bin Abdul-Rahman is a Syrian and trustworthy. There is another route for it from Usayd, found in Abu Dawud in his Sunan (2630), and Tahawi in Sharh Mushkil Athar (44).
