The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sanctity of the wives of those who fight in the way of Allah is, for those who stay behind, like the sanctity of their own mothers. There is no man who stays behind and takes the place of one of the fighters in caring for his family, then betrays him concerning them, but that he will be made to stand before him on the Day of Resurrection, and the fighter will take whatever he wishes from his good deeds. So what do you think will be left?"
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Leadership (1897:139), from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Waki narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Alqama bin Marthad, from Sulayman bin Burayda, from his father, and he mentioned it.
