The Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever equips a warrior fighting in the cause of Allah has himself fought, and whoever looks after the family of a warrior fighting in the cause of Allah, treating them well in his absence, has himself fought."
أن رسول الله قال: من جهز غازيا في سبيل الله فقد غزا، ومن خلف غازيا في سبيل الله بخير فقد غزا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (2843), and Muslim in the Book of Leadership (1895:136), both of them through Husayn al-Muallim, who said, Yahya bin Abu Kathir narrated to us, who said, Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman narrated to me, who said, Busr bin Saeed narrated to me, who said, Zayd bin Khalid narrated to me, and he related it.
