Abu Darda reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Standing guard at the frontier for a month is better than fasting for a lifetime. Whoever dies guarding the frontier in the path of Allah will be safe from the great terror, his provision and a breeze from paradise will be brought to him morning and evening, and the reward of the frontier guard will continue to flow to him until Allah 
resurrects him."

عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: رباط شهر خير من صيام دهر، ومن مات مرابطا في سبيل الله أمن من الفزع الأكبر، وغدي عليه برزقه وريح من الجنة، ويجري عليه أجر المرابط حتى يبعثه الله عز وجل.
Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir, as found in Jami al-Masanid wal-Sunan (1105), from Khayr bin Arafah, from Abdullah bin Abdul-Hakam, from Isam bin Ismail, from Musa bin Warqan, from Hanash bin Abdullah, from Abu Darda, who related it.Munziri said in Targhib wal-Tarhib (1924), "Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy." Haythami followed him in Majma al-Zawaid (5/290).However, I have not come across a biography of Isam bin Ismail or Musa bin Warqan, nor have I found any mention of them in Thiqat Ibn Hibban. It is possible that a corruption occurred in the name, so the responsibility rests with Munziri and Haythami.
