The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever he finished the dawn prayer, would ask, "Did any of you see a dream last night?" And he would say, "Nothing remains of prophethood after me except the righteous dream."
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا انصرف من صلاة الغداة يقول: هل رأى أحد منكم الليلة رؤيا. ويقول: ليس يبقى بعدي من النبوة، إلا الرؤيا الصالحة.
Malik narrated it in Muwatta, in the Book of Dreams (3), and from him Abu Dawud (5017) and Ahmad (8313) narrated it. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6048), as did Hakim (4/390-391), who said, "This is a hadith sahih in its chain, though the two of them did not include it."
