I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage, in which he said, "Fear Allah your Lord, pray your five daily prayers, fast your month, pay the zakat on your wealth, and obey those in authority among you, and you will enter the Paradise of your Lord."
Tirmidhi (616) narrated it from Musa bin Abdul-Rahman Kindi Kufi, who said, Zayd bin Hubab related to us, Muawiya bin Salih informed us, Salim bin Amir told me, I heard Abu Umama say, then he mentioned it. He said, I asked Abu Umama, "How long ago did you hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "I heard it when I was thirty years old." Tirmidhi said, This is a hasan hadith.Imam Ahmad also narrated it (22161) from Zayd bin Hubab with the same wording. Ibn Hibban also graded it sahih (4563), as did Hakim (1/473), and Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim, and we know of no defect in it." And it is as he said.Abu Dawud also narrated it (1955) in abbreviated form through Walid bin Muslim, who said, Ibn Jabir (that is, Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir) related to us from Salim bin Amir Kalai, I heard Abu Umama say, "I heard the sermon of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Mina on the day of sacrifice." But he did not mention the text of the sermon. The hadith has other chains of transmission besides this one, but what I have mentioned is the soundest of them.
