We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to listen and obey, and he said, "In whatever you are able."
بايعنا رسول الله ﷺ على السمع والطاعة فقال: فيما استطعتم.
Ibn Majah (2868) and Ahmad (12203) narrated it via Waki, who said, "Shubah narrated to us, from Attab, the freedman of Ibn Hurmuz, who said, 'I heard Anas bin Malik,'" and then he related the hadith. This isnad is hasan because of Attab, the freedman of Ibn Hurmuz, for his hadith is hasan.Ahmad (13264) also narrated it from Abu Saeed, from Shubah, from Jafar bin Mabad, from Anas, in similar wording. This Jafar bin Mabad was narrated from by both Shubah and Salam bin Miskin. Abu Hatim said of him, "He is sound," and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat. He is among the men found in Tajil.
